About this Blog

During my 30-year work history I've been a teacher, staff member of a local nonprofit, a foundation executive and consultant to a national nonprofit organization. Now, as an independent consultant, I feel all of these experiences coming together nicely to form my approach to helping nonprofit organizations better accomplish their missions.
I am particularly interested in helping nonprofit organizations better engage individual donors in their work. It is truly exciting to see many new strategies come into play in this arena--just at the time that individuals are playing an increasingly larger role in philanthropy. Michael Gilbert's challenge to "make every donor feel like a major donor" is becoming my mantra.
The capacity of webblogs to contribute to nonprofit community building has spurred the creation of my own blog. I am using it to learn the "how" of blogs. It is (encouragingly enough) a lot like web site creation, but a lot easier.
I also hope to use this blog to share some of my thoughts with clients and, I hope, a community of like thinkers. If you're reading this, perhaps you are one of my new friends.
