March Book Club

I belong to a book club that has been meeting since March, 1978.  Most recently we read and discussed "Red Star over China," by Edgar Snow (published in the 1930's).  We found it challenging reading, but a fascinating look into this huge country at a critical time in its history.

Bob Farnsworth, Snow's biographer, came to our second meeting about the book and talked about this journalist who made history.  We have a special connection to him, as he came from Kansas City.  But his life is nearly as worthy of note as Mao's, whom he interviewed in "Red Star."  All of us agreed that we needed this historical background on China--and more.

Next in my blogging tutorial I need to figure how to add our book club reading list to this site.  Hmmm...so much to learn.
